Why You Should Come

Thanks to everyone that has RSVP’ed. If you have not purchased your tickets yet, or if you have RSVP’ed “yes” but not yet paid, please remember to do so by May 14th. We have a great group attending so far. If you have decided not to come or are on the fence, please reconsider.

It is always hard to select a date for these types of things. We thought it would be fun to have it exactly twenty years to the weekend that we graduated. This is, unfortunately, also Father’s Day weekend but we hope that you will still have your Sunday available to celebrate. For all you dads out there, it’s a perfect excuse for you to lay in bed, recovering, the day afterwards!

We graduated twenty years ago with an extremely unique, talented and successful group of people. In addition to our shared background of having grown up in the 06611, in the twenty years that have passed, an immense amount has happened to shape us into the adults we are today. Did you know that among us are: an Olympic skeleton racer, a TV producer, an architect, an oncology nurse practitioner, an acupuncturist, a veterinarian, a production designer, a Princeton valedictorian, a backyard chicken farmer, a feather salesman, a chiropractor, a nutritionist, a personal trainer as well as many teachers, lawyers, doctors, real estate agents, entrepreneurs, bankers, Ph.D’s, writers, social workers, presidents of companies, consultants, engineers, stay-at-home moms. We are married, divorced, remarried, single. We are moms and dads, aunts and uncles. We have been through really difficult times as well as great ones, each person’s path making them the individual they are today. Tragically, we have lost Dean Kalmanides, Cynthia Whitney, Christine Cassells, Michael Kaplanka, and Paulo Monteiro.

Let me wax sentimental for a moment and say that I, for one, am looking forward to seeing you all and learning about what the past twenty years have been like for you. The quality of a party depends entirely on the quality of people who attend. The more we have from our class, the better this will be. From our Class Characteristics list, come and find out if Lee is still talkative (she is), if Linda is still gorgeous (she is), if Betty and Travis are still a couple (they are). You only have your twenty year reunion once in your life. Hope to see you there! -- Julie
